Individual Therapy

Honest support for your everyday challenges and what’s weighing on you

Feeling like life is always moving faster than you can catch up? Between practices, rehearsals, school, work, and social pressure, it’s easy to start losing grip on what’s actually going on inside. At Wellness in Mind Therapy, I offer a calm space where you can slow things down and talk through what matters most.

Who I Work With

I support high school and college athletes, musicians, performers, and anyone pushing themselves through expectations. Whether you’re dealing with:

  • Anxiety or depression
  • Burnout or loss of motivation
  • Grief, transitions, or relationship stress
  • Issues related to identity, self-esteem, or performance
  • Coping skills, multicultural or LGBTQ+ concerns

My goal is to meet you where you are and give you tools that fit your life.

How It Works

Starting therapy doesn’t have to feel like a huge leap. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to make sure we’re a good fit. It’s totally informal, just a chance to ask questions, share what’s going on, and see how we’d work.

Once we start working together, sessions are relaxed and focused on what helps you most. I use a framework of Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), which is an approach that builds your psychological flexibility while aligning with your values in order to live a more rich and fulfilling life. This approach, along with interventions based in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and sport psychology are blended in a way that helps you stay resilient in all parts of your life.

Real Talk, Real Change

Every session is about building mental strength in ways that actually connect to your life. Whether you’re setting goals, managing pressure, navigating identity, or recovering from burnout, I bring insights from both clinical training and real experience working with athletes, performers, and young adults.

Anxiety or Depression
Anxiety and depression can make even simple daily tasks feel overwhelming. Therapy provides a supportive space to understand what you are going through, learn strategies to manage symptoms, and build healthier patterns that restore balance and energy.
Burnout or loss of motivation
Constant pressure from school, work, or performance can lead to burnout and leave you feeling drained or unmotivated. Together, we’ll identify the causes, rebuild balance, and create strategies that help you find focus and motivation again.
sport and performance consulting
Grief, transitions, or relationship stress
Life changes, loss, and strained relationships can be difficult to navigate alone. Therapy gives you space to process emotions, develop coping skills, and move forward with clarity and resilience.
therapy for musician performance anxiety
Issues related to identity, self-esteem, or performance
Questions of identity, self-worth, and performance often weigh heavily on athletes, performers, and young adults. Sessions are designed to help you strengthen confidence, embrace who you are, and perform at your best without losing yourself in the process.
Coping skills, multicultural or LGBTQ+ concerns
Everyone’s experiences are unique. Therapy can help you build healthy coping strategies while addressing multicultural or LGBTQ+ concerns in a safe, affirming space that respects your identity and perspective.
Substance use or trauma that’s weighing you down
Substance use and unresolved trauma can create patterns that hold you back. With the right support, you can begin to heal, regain control, and create healthier ways to move forward in life and performance.

Are sessions available in person or online?

At Wellness in Mind Therapy, sessions are offered online only through a secure and private telehealth platform. This gives you the flexibility to connect from anywhere in Ohio or Kentucky, whether you’re at school, home, or traveling for competitions or performances. Online therapy makes it easier to fit sessions into your schedule without extra stress.

What states are you licensed in?

Nick Rogell, MA, LPCC, CMPC, is a licensed therapist in Ohio and Kentucky. If you’re located in either state, you can book sessions confidently knowing your care meets all state licensing requirements.

Do you work with kids or teens?

Typically, therapy at Wellness in Mind focuses on young adults ages 18 and older. However, on a case-by-case basis, Nick works with clients 16 and up if it feels like a good fit. If you’re unsure, the free 15-minute consultation is a great way to discuss whether this would work for you or your teen.

How long is a typical session?

Most sessions last 50 minutes to one hour. This allows enough time to focus on your goals, build effective coping strategies, and leave each session with clarity and direction.

How often would we meet?

The frequency of therapy sessions is collaborative and based on your needs. Many clients start with weekly sessions for the first three weeks to establish momentum, then adjust together to biweekly or monthly depending on your progress and goals.

Do you work with athletes from any sport?

Yes. Whether you play soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, baseball, or compete in less traditional sports, mental performance skills are teachable and transferable. Nick has extensive experience working with athletes at every level, including college, professional, and recreational players, helping them strengthen focus, confidence, and mental resilience.

Do you work with executives and high performers?

Absolutely. Nick works with C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals who want to improve focus, stress management, decision-making, and performance under pressure. The same mental strategies that help athletes succeed can be applied to leaders balancing high-stakes roles.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, Wellness in Mind Therapy accepts insurance. Coverage depends on your plan, and we recommend contacting your provider directly to confirm your benefits. We’ll gladly help guide you through the process and discuss payment options if needed.
